Europe’s top DHC event will be held in Lithuania’s capital on 3-5 May 2021. Some 400 District Energy leaders and like-minded professionals are expected to attend the 40th Euroheat & Power Congress to discuss solutions and enhance knowledge on major issues of importance for the European and Global District Energy sectors. This includes both technical and business approaches: from new developments in legislation, to the latest operational experiences, most recent technological developments, and fresh research findings.
Vilnius was chosen ahead of another shortlisted city, Ljubljana, following a highly competitive bidding process. The Lithuanian District Heating Association (LDHA) put forth Vilnius’ bid with the support of Go Vilnius, the city’s tourism and business development agency.
“We are delighted to have won the bid to bring the Euroheat & Power Congress to Vilnius. Undoubtedly, it will be a massive boost for Lithuania’s energy sector. The theme of the congress is New Perspectives, which will serve as a great opportunity to share our experiences while showcasing our innovation and successful public-private partnerships through the diverse aspects of district energy,” says Vidas Lukoševičius, President of the LDHA.
“The Euroheat & Power Network’s decision to bring such a significant event to Vilnius is amazing news for the city. Over the past few years, Lithuania’s capital has employed a number of technologies to upgrade the heating sector, which has benefitted DH customers across the city and is recognised as one of the most advanced in Europe. We look forward to welcoming some of the top leaders to Vilnius and hope they will enjoy all the experiences our city has to offer,” remarks Go Vilnius Director Inga Romanovskienė.
The Euroheat & Power Congress will be the first major international energy sector conference of this scale hosted in Lithuania and is expected to bring over EUR 280,000 in economic benefits to Vilnius.
