Established in 1987 in the magnificently reconstructed Old Arsenal of the Lower Castle of Vilnius that originally dates from the 16th century, the building is now the city’s impressive Museum of Applied Arts & Design. It is a popular location for gala events and official ceremonies. Steeped in history, the building forms part of a larger ensemble that was once incorporated into the city’s original defensive walls of which a portion remains and can be viewed when entering the museum.
