Vilnius has reached a significant milestone, making its debut among the world's top 100 cities. Each year, Euromonitor International, a renowned global market research company, compiles an exhaustive list of the world's most enticing tourism destinations, and this year, Vilnius has garnered well-deserved recognition for its exceptional performance in various domains.
The Lithuanian capital dazzled on the international stage, propelled by its triumphant celebration of its 700th anniversary, seamless hosting of the NATO Summit, and remarkable marketing campaigns. These endeavours played a pivotal role in fueling the robust post-pandemic resurgence of the tourism sector and a substantial surge in international tourist arrivals.
Euromonitor International's latest report, the “Top 100 City Destinations Index 2023” scrutinizes 55 metrics across six key pillars for 100 city destinations, ultimately creating an encompassing city attractiveness score. These six pillars encompass economic and business performance, tourism performance and infrastructure, tourism policy and attractiveness, health and safety, and sustainability.
Notably, this year's compilation of the top 100 cities showcases 63 European cities, with Vilnius proudly taking its place among them. This achievement also holds promising prospects for Vilnius' meetings industry, positioning the city as a flourishing global destination and opening up exciting possibilities for hosting conferences and events.
