This year at the Congress of the International Ice Hockey Federal, Vilnius has been selected as the host city for the 2024 Division IB World Men's Ice Hockey Championship, scheduled from April 27 to May 3, 2024. The tournament will be held at the freshly revamped Avia Solutions Group Arena, which recently opened its doors in June. With a seating capacity of 10,000 for sports games, the arena offers not only renovated spaces but also convenient self-service catering solutions for the fans.
The championship will see the national teams of Lithuania, Ukraine, China, Estonia, the Netherlands, and Spain competing for the title. This will mark the third time Vilnius has hosted the World Men's Ice Hockey Championship, following successful editions in 2009 and 2014.
